Stockholm Remix Feat. Ria Mae gets Exclaim! Premier

December 8, 2015

"Ria and I have been working hard over the years at eating garlic fingers at 3AM and also on various music stuff. We wear the exact same outfit everyday and coordinate hairstyle telepathically -- we've started a side project called 'Hairtwin'. Some magic occurred when we sang together on this one. Magic doesn't come around that often. Check it!" - John

When you get a fan to sing 'Torches'...

November 24, 2015

Rachel was brought to our attention by someone who heard her cover of 'Model Homes' on youtube years ago. The idea had been kicking around for a while to work with her on a re-imagining of an In-Flight track. Rae's voice is amazing and the feminine take on this song really offers a renewed strength and power to this track.

Taken from the 'Stockholm EP'. To be released early 2016 on Ooh La La Recordings.

IFS Win "Alternative' Album Of The Year

November 9, 2015

The band wishes to thank you all for your love and support. Here's what John had to say about it:

"THANK YOU Music NS for selecting us for 'Alternative Album Of Year". Winning an 'award' for music/art is super subjective thing - we can all agree. But with all honesty it means everything to us. It's a privilege to be nominated, let alone win. Making art and then attempting to capture people's imagination is a hard fought road. Because I forgot to do so when accepting (blame the late night). I just want to take a moment to say how grateful we are to Music Nova Scotia for all the support and opportunities it has given/continues to give this band over the years. It truly would be impossible to travel as far wide without you. Thank You!" -JM

'anthemic' - HiFi News UK

October 2, 2015

The band received this sweet review from HiFi News in the UK for Conversationalist recently. Thanks HiFi!

"Canadians, of course, punch a long way above their weight when it comes to making great rock music. Think Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen and, in more recent times, Arcade Fire. Nova Scotia-based duo In-Flight Safety have the songs and musicianly skills to join that elevated pantheon. Guitarist John Mullane and drummer Glen Nicholson, fill out their sound in the studio and on stage with carefully chosen buddies, and this unusual modus operandi, works. On their third CD, several songs, eg. ‘Animals’ and ‘Tie A String’, come complete with chiming guitar ambience, solid beats and soaring vocals that tend towards the anthemic.” - JBk, HiFi News.

6 Nova Scotia Music Awards Nominations!

September 15, 2015

In-Flight Safety came away with 6 Nominations including 'Album of The Year' - for their 2014 album "Conversationalist"!

The band was thrilled with the accolades. Singer and guitarist John Mullane went on to say "I know awards for something as subjective as music can be awkward at times but we are so grateful for the recognition we are getting for this record - a lot went into making it and this means so much to Glen and me."

For more information about In-Flight Safety's nominations and other nominees check out this article in the Chronicle Herald.
